Ghanaian-American comedian and actor, Michael Blackson has rendered an apology to Ghanaians following a comment he made in an interview.
The comedian in an interview revealed that Nigeria has all relevant artistes, but Ghana has only four, which caused a stir on social media.
In the interview, Blackson mentioned Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Black Sherif as the only Ghanaian artists he knows and praised them.
According to Blackson, Nigeria has more globally recognised superstars than Ghana. In the video, he mentions a slew of Nigerian superstars, including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage.
“Nigeria has all the artistes in Africa— It’s like the New York of African music. I can only count 4 artistes in the whole of Ghana, Shatta Wale, Stone bwoy, Sarkodie & Blacksherif” —This is why I’m trying to give them a 5th star” – he said in the interview.
