Mr Muzic Mensah has won the ‘Best Highlife Artist of the Year’ award at the Ghana Music Awards USA 2024 (GMAUSA) held at the Grand Resort Hotel in New Jersey.
The former Gospel artist known for his tune ‘Hero’ triumphed at 5th edition of the coveted award with his 2023 debut Highlife single ‘Obi Be Su’ featuring J Black
The accolade recognises and honours outstanding Ghanaian artists in Ghana and the diaspora, with notable nominees including Official Ebo Adeɛfɛ Kwakye, Jay Baba, Toowan8, and Kojo Black.

Upon being announced as the winner, Mr Muzic Mensah took the stage to accept his award, receiving a warm round of applause from the audience.
In his acceptance speech, a an excited Mensah expressed deep gratitude to his fans, management, and the producer behind the hit song saying
“First of all, I give thanks to Almighty God and the Ghana Music Awards USA. To everyone here, my fans out there, my family, the team, and the producer who brought this song to life—this award belongs to you. I can’t do this without my fans. Thank you very much, and God bless you.”

Mr Muzic Mensah released “Obi Be Su” on July 6, 2023, after transitioning from gospel to secular music due to the lack of support from stakeholders and music promoters, despite his efforts in the gospel scene.
His shift to secular music sparked some controversy and criticism, but Mensah remained undeterred, continuing to produce and collaborate with other artists, including Strongman on the track “Babe.”
Among his releases is the song “Joohami,” which gained traction on social media, with popular Ghanaian dancers Afonitaa and Abigail showcasing their moves to its catchy lyrics.
Through perseverance, hard work, and dedication, Mr Muzic Mensah has achieved this significant milestone, securing his place in the highlife music scene. Congratulations to him on this well-deserved award!
