Mohammed Kudus credits his success to his amazing mother, who used to sell Tuo Zaafi (a tasty Ghanaian delicacy made of corn or millet) to support him and his siblings.
They have a really close relationship, and he even flew her to London for his big moment when he joined with West Ham United last summer.
Kudus appreciates his mother’s sacrifices, putting her career on the line to provide for them by selling Tuo Zaafi on the streets.
“My mum used to sell Tuo zaafi. She put her job on the line to take care of me and my siblings. But now I don’t let her do that anymore,” Kudus told Guvna B in an interview with West Ham TV.
“But if she can do that [work that hard], then there’s a lot for me to also do for her to make her as comfortable as possible.”

In a touching gesture, the West Ham player purchased a home for his mother shortly after signing his professional contract and stated Moving her away from Nima, where he grew up, is a significant achievement for him.
“Moving her out of Nima, getting her her own house. I think that’s one of the biggest achievements that she’s proud of. The first thing I did when I moved to Denmark was to give my mum a house so that she can be comfortable,” he said.

“I believe that’s the basic need in living; to wake up with no monthly rent [on your mind] and stuff. So that’s the big thing I was able to do for her.”
Kudus, who moved from Ajax to East London at the age of 23, is tearing it up in the Premier League. Not only is he settling in well, but he’s also shown his goal-scoring abilities, such as the incredible double he scored in the Hammers’ 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
