Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly stormed out of a news conference to avoid answering journalists’ questions about the dubious penalty following Portugal’s dramatic World Cup victory over Ghana.

Ronaldo became the first male player to score in five different World Cups courtesy to the controversial goal he scored.

Andre Ayew tied the game for Ghana before Joao Felix and Rafael Leao scored after clever passes from Bruno Fernandes. Despite Ghana’s valiant efforts, the game ended 3-2 in favor of the Portuguese.

Because Ronaldo’s penalty conversion cost the Black Stars the game, Ghanaians are still fuming at the official, whose biased refereeing cost the team a point in the Group H opener.

“This is a moment that makes me very proud. That chapter (United) is closed. I’m here to win. The rest does not matter,”— Ronaldo said during the press after which he reportedly left to avoid answering questions about his controversial goal against the Black Stars.

Essentially, Ronaldo, who was given the honour of being chosen man of the match, spoke for about 2 minutes and 12 seconds before leaving just as inquiries regarding the penalty decision were going to be made.

Otto Addo in a press conference explained why Ronaldo’s penalty was a free gift to him stating that, Salisu’s thigh made a little contact with Cristiano’s leg before the Portugal captain fell to the ground but officials failed to  use VAR to review the incident.

“It was a wrong decision. It was actually a foul against us,” Addo complained. Asked about Ronaldo’s milestone goal, Addo said: “If somebody scores a goal, congratulations. But this was a gift, really a gift.”— Otto Addo said
