Born on June 22, 1935 and died January 26, 2024, at the age of 88, Love begun his career journey at age 11 when he begun working with BBC. He attended his education at Strandtown Primary School and Regent House Grammar School in Newtownards.
Although it would be long-running Love in the Afternoon that went on to become his most famous show, Walter Love’s influence soon became especially noted in broadcasting circles.
Other key shows for Love included Radio Liter’s Day By Day. In 2023, a career that span more than 77 years was finally brought to an end as Jazz Club with Walter Love signed off the airwaves for the last time.
Walter Love blissed out in his broadcasting journey as he progressed from a studio manager in London to a television news anchorage in Belfast.
Firstly, he joined Radio Ulster in 1978 and became the presenter not only of the Sunday show Love Forty but earned an MBE in 1997 for his valuable input to journalism.
In 2014, he was posthumously inducted into the Phonographic Performance Ireland Radio Awards Hall of Fame. The award testified not only to Love’s incredible contribution in this area but also that the results of his labor have been appreciated by millions of people over the years.
He suffered from short illness and passed away on Friday morning in a nursing home, BBC reports

Mary was the head of the art department of Ballyclare Secondary School for much of her outstanding and varied career in education spanning over 30 years from her initial involvement in art.
The couple shared a deep bond not only in their personal life but also beyond that, as dedicated service to each other through supporting goals in pursuit of education and creativity.
