Dutch professional footballers Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum on holiday break in Ghana has donated money boxing gym centers in Accra.
The two players, who have African roots, were spotted in Accra at the Boxing center enjoying themselves while watching a football match with the crowd.
Many people were delighted to see them in one photo taken and credited by media personality and former Tv3 sport presenter, Juliet Bawuah, who currently works for DSV Ghana.
She posted the photo on her social media account with the caption “Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis in Ghana”

Memphis Depay during his visit in Ghana made a donation to Accra boxing gyms centers for renovations after being shown in a video conversing with children.

Meanwhile, Memphis Depay is of African descent and was born in Morrdrecht to a Ghanaian father, Dennis Depay, and a Dutch mother, Schensema.
Georginio Wijnaldum, on the other hand, is from Suriname, a country on the northeastern coast of South America, where his father and mother are also from.
Wijnaldum was first known as Boateng when he first appeared in Dutch football and caused much speculation among Ghanaians that he would play for the Ghana national team in 2013.
In 2021, the Dutch-born midfielder revealed that despite his Ghanaian name, he has no Ghanaian blood flowing through his veins.
Gini explained how the name Boateng came about, saying that his mother gave it to him when he married his Ghanaian stepfather.

The former Liverpool player claimed his father is related to former Dutch international and current Blackstars assistant coach Geroge Boateng.
“I want to put on record that I am now Georginio Wijnaldum, not Georginio Boateng, in fact, I have been known as George Wijnaldum for four years now,”
“Boateng was the name of my former stepfather who is related to retired Dutch footballer of Ghanaian-origin George Boateng.”
“My stepfather gave his surname to me but after he divorced my mother I got the Boateng off my name and took my mother’s name Wijnaldum as my surname.” Wijnaldum added,
“My mother and my original father are Surinamese so people should get it clear.” he stated as quoted by goal.com
Meanwhile, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is known as Georginio Gregion Emile Wijnaldum since his parents divorced in 2009.
