Three suspected armed robbers involved in the theft of Stonebwoy’s road manager’s car have reportedly been arrested.
The Ghana Police confirmed the arrests on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, and announced that the stolen vehicle had been recovered just a week after it was snatched.
The incident occurred in East Legon, where the carjackers stole a Mercedes Benz from Stonebwoy’s road manager after the singer had left him and a friend.
Through police intelligence, the suspects were apprehended in different locations; Accra, Takoradi, and Tamale.
Despite the fact that the car had been taken in Accra, two other vehicles were discovered in Tamale during their detention.
Police further indicate that two iPhones were among items seized from the suspects as a means of conducting “illegal acts.”
Before their arrest, Stonebwoy had publicly appealed to the then-unknown suspects to return the car during a recent interview.
The award-winning artist recounted the incident, explaining that his road manager was dropping off a friend at home when two armed robbers forcibly entered their compound.
“The assailants stole the car, a Benz C300, and fled the scene at gunpoint,” he said.
The Ghana police, in an official statement confirming their arrest, indicate that the three suspects are in police custody and assisting them with future investigations.
