Ghanaian Hiplife artist Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng popularly known as Nero X has released a campaign song for National Democratic Congress Flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama ahead of upcoming general elections in December.
The singer’s song, “Mahama For 2024,” aims to endorse and support Mahama’s bid and rally supporters in his favour.
As elections approach, it is common strategy in Ghana for artists to engage and encourage voters by using music as a political campaign tool.

Music is also an effective medium for communication and mobilisation, reflecting society issues and political views.
Artists use their platforms to advocate for change and express their political affiliations.
However, Nero X’s campaign song for Mahama, which comes with a music video, also discusses how the NDC leader is the best candidate to reclaim the presidency.
He then advised young voters and the general public to vote with their thumbs and support Mahama as the country’s first gentleman.
The Takoradi-born artist also highlighted the NDC’s successes and promises, urging voters to support his candidature in the forthcoming election.
Meanwhile, Nero X is best known for his 2015 mega hit single ‘Osey,’ which peaked at the top of numerous charts.
He made his debut in Ghana’s music industry in 2005 as a member of the musical group 2unit.
Nero X won the maiden Born Stars season on Viasat 1 TV in 2013. His other hit songs include “Otan,” “Nyame Dawdaw,” and others.
