Ghanaian professional dancer Boakye Frederick is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest dance marathon by an individual.
Boakye Frederick who is an entertainer aims to dance for 7 days from July 11th, to July 18th, 2024 at the Kwahu Obomeng Social Center which his ongoing dance-a-thon is held.
At the time of reporting, Boakye had already danced for nearly 13 hours continuous, demonstrating his capacity to complete his 168 hours.
Fredrick’s excitement is building as admirers flock to the venue to show their support for the creative professional dancer.
Srushti Sudhir Jagtap set the record for the longest dance marathon by an individual, lasting 127 hours from May 29 to June 3, 2023.
Srushi achieved this milestone at the age of 16 while attending Dayanand College in India, where he set the record.
Boakye Frederick has become the eighth Ghanaian to begin on the GWR journey, hoping to have their names written in the organization’s book.
Prior to him, Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, Afua Asantewaa, Regina Adu Sarfowaa, Du Sam, Seidu Rafiwu, and Atinga Nsobila Joel attempted to set or break Guinness World Records.
Unlike Chef Smith, who did not officially apply for his cook-a-thon event but cheated Ghanaians by public deception after being caught with a fake certificate.

However, Felicity Asantewaa and one-year-old Ace Liam are the only Ghanaians GWR has recognised and presented certificates to.
Asantewaa broke the record for the most automobiles washed by a single person, and Liam was also named the youngest male performer.
