Ghanaian rapper Amerado’s hit song ‘Kwaku Ananse’ has been featured in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The song ‘Kwaku Ananse,’ which was released in 2024, appeared in question number 26 of the Creative Arts and Design exam papers, along with the lyrics.
This not only validated the song’s popularity, but also the lyrics’ impact on students and the education system.
Many people were upset when ‘Kwaku Ananse’ was not nominated for the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), but the organizers later reinstated it as the most popular song category.
Kwaku Ananse which accompanied by music video after it released on YouTube has garnered over 2 million views on the video-sharing platform.

Meanwhile, the BECE began on July 8 with over 500, 000 students expected to sit in classes and examination halls to write the exams, ending on July 15th. Following completion, the exam results will be used to qualify students for second-cycle (secondary and technical) schools.
The criteria are based on two components: continuous assessments (30%) and the main external examination (70%).
Other subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Religious and Moral Education, Integrated Science, Social Studies, French, Ghanaian language, Visual Art, Home Economics, Pre-Technical Skills, Information, Communication, and Technology.
