Christian Atsu’s family has reacted to news of the former Ghanaian footballer’s death, as they prepare to receive his body later Tonite at the Kotoka International Airport
This comes few hours the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that the footballer’s mortal remains will arrive in Ghana on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 7:40 p.m.
Some part of the statement reads: ‘The remains will be received at the Kotoka International Airport by the family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Government upon its arrival from Istanbul, Türkiye. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, and we pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Christian Atsu”
However, preparations are underway as the deceased’s family prepares to receive the body at Kotoka International Airport.
A footage captured by Tv3 Ghana at Atsu’s residence in Ogbodjo-Accra showed the family crying profusely over the loss of their beloved son, who died in the tragic earthquake in Turkey.

Because Atsu’s family is still yet to receive the body, burial dates and memorial services have yet to be set or made public.
