Ghanaian polician and business mogul Chairman Wontumi has revealed his plans to sign Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ghanaian Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
This comes after Manchester United parted ways with Ronaldo in a mutual agreement with immediate effect, causing the businessman to bid the Portuguese star, which he is currently available and ready to move to the next team.
Manchester United’s board of directors issued an official statement on Tuesday, November 22, to terminate the five-time Balon’dor winner’s contract following his recent interview with Piers Morgan in which he stated that the club is not ideally focused to achieve anything following the departure of their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ronaldo, who felt his role was being reduced, vented his anger on manager Erik Ten Hag, whom he thought had humiliated him by leaving him on the bench.
However, Andy Owusu, an aide to Chairman Wontumi, stated in a confirmation message to Kwame Adinkrah, host of Kumasi-based Pure FM’s ‘Pure Morning Drive’ program, that they have already drafted their proposal letter for the purchase of Ronaldo to Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporting Club and plan to submit their bid by November 25, 2022.

Earlier this year, the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman made headlines after failing to purchase English Premier League team Chelsea for $3.1 billion (£2.4 million).

Chairman Wontumi has yet to comment, but his plan to sign Ronaldo will make him the first representative to submit an offer to match the 37-year-old’s clause.
