Christian Atsu, a Chelsea former player has been reportedly found after going missing in the early hours of Monday, February 6, 2023, under the rubble of a massive earthquake in Turkey.
Christian Atsu and his sporting director Taner Savut were among the 2500 people trapped and killed by the devastating earthquake.
This had a massive effect on the Footballer’s loved ones and friends on social media, who rallied in support of him in order for him to survive the tragic events.
Prior to the tragic events, Christian Atsu scored a stoppage time goal with the game’s final kick to secure all three points for Hatayspor last night, putting a smile on the club’s faces.
However, according to a new report, the 31-year-old midfielder has been discovered by the search team after being trapped under the rubble of a massive earthquake.
Report from Ghanaian popular journalist, Saddick Adams says; “Christian Atsu was on the 9th floor of the collapsed building with 9 other players when he was rescued, along with two officials”.
The award-winning Sports Journalist also wrote: “I’m still in contact with Christian Atsu’s management. A teammate of Atsu has confirmed to them, the player has been found and taken to the hospital. They expect an official statement from his club soon. Prayers still with him and everyone. Trust God he is safe.”
According to another report Mirror Football writer, the former Black Stars player was “found alive and was rescued from the rubble and transported to a hospital after suffering injuries to his right foot and difficulty breathing”.
Turkish sports presenter Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, who previously detailed the tragic incident, has now confirmed on Twitter that “Christian Atsu has been pulled from the wreckage alive!”
