Court Documents Reveal Why Stonebwoy Got Webkid Arrested

Court documents reveal why Stonebwoy reported Webkid Africa to police

Recent court proceedings have provide more update on the circumstances that led to the arrest of popular social media commentator and blogger, Webkid, following a complaint filed by Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

According to documents presented before the court, the case stems from an extensive cybercrime investigation launched after Stonebwoy, known in private life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, discovered that several music videos had been deleted from his official YouTube channel.

The development reportedly prompted the award-winning musician to initiate his own inquiries before formally petitioning the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

The court documents indicate that Stonebwoy’s investigations allegedly pointed to his former social media administrator and manager, Casey Kobia, as the individual responsible for the deletion of the videos.

Following the petition, the matter was referred to the Cybercrime Unit for a comprehensive investigation.

As investigators dug deeper into the case, they reportedly uncovered a wider network of activities extending beyond the YouTube incident.

Authorities allege that certain individuals were recruited to publish content targeting Stonebwoy and members of his family on social media platforms.

Why Webkid Was Arrested

According to prosecutors, Webkid, identified in court documents as a salesman and social media blogger operating under the username “webkid_Afrika” on X (formerly Twitter), was among the individuals allegedly involved in the online campaign.

The prosecution claims that the accused repeatedly shared images and posts concerning Stonebwoy, his wife, and his children.

The publications allegedly contained spouse-related allegations, paternity claims, financial accusations, legal insinuations, offensive remarks, and other controversial assertions.

Investigators further contend that these publications were intended to ridicule, harass, and cause emotional distress to the musician and his family.

Authorities also allege that the posts attracted additional users who contributed offensive comments and further amplified the content online.

The case has sparked renewed discussions about cyberbullying, digital responsibility, and the growing influence of social media platforms in shaping public narratives.

Legal experts have long warned that while social media provides a platform for free expression, it can also become a tool for targeted harassment when users publish unverified or misleading information about private individuals and their families.

The allegations outlined in the court documents suggest investigators believe the online publications had the potential to create public hostility, reputational harm, and safety concerns for those involved.

Court records show that Webkid was arrested on May 7, 2026, following investigations by the Cybercrime Unit.

Prosecutors informed the court that inquiries are still ongoing as authorities seek to identify and apprehend other individuals who may have played roles in the alleged activities.

As the legal process continues, the court will ultimately determine the validity of the allegations and whether any criminal liability can be established against the accused persons.

Beyond the personalities involved, the case highlights the increasing scrutiny of online conduct in Ghana.

It serves as a reminder that content shared on social media can have legal consequences, particularly when authorities believe it crosses the line from commentary into harassment, intimidation, or the dissemination of harmful information.

For now, the allegations remain before the court, and all accused persons are entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

However, the court documents provide the clearest explanation yet as to why Stonebwoy’s complaint ultimately resulted in Webkid’s arrest and prosecution.
