Legendary Ghanaian highlife artist Nana Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD, has reportedly passed away.
The singer died at the age of 56 on Friday night, May 16, in the Gbwe hospital, with high blood pressure being the cause.
According to reports, KD contracted also mild malaria after being diagnosed with symptoms, leading his family to rush to the nearby hospitals.
Credible sources, like Adomonline, report that the famed musician was pronounced dead shortly after being attended by a doctor as his condition worsened.
His fellow artist King Pee in an interview on Adom FM also revealed how Dada KD was turned away by three hospitals due to the absence of doctors even though he did not mentioned them.
Many Ghanaians have taken to social media to mourn him, flooding their timelines with “RIP” messages.
Dada Hafco, who confirmed the Dada KD’d death in an interview with Graphic Online, is among those who have paid tribute to the musicians
“If you ask me to confirm myself, I can’t because I’m not around where the incident happened but somebody called to tell me and that is a very credible source,” he said.”
Dada KD is best known for his songs like Tekyere Ma, Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, and Honey Love, among others.
However, Dada KD’s family is yet to officially comment or determine the funeral and burial arrangement.
