Born on 11th October 1977 in Waxahachie, Texas, USA, Desmond Mason started his basketball journey at a young age playing at high and college school.
He made his professional debit career with Seattle Super Sonics in 2000 where he drafted out of Oklahoma State University with 17th pick of the 2000 NBA draft.
In 2001, Desmond Mason became the first SuperSonics player to win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He also came in second place in the 2003 contest behind Jason Richardson.
Desmond, known for his great offensive playing style and athleticism, went on to become a renowned musician and NBA co-host on an Oklahoma City sports radio talk station.
