DJ Azonto‘s management has requested $10 million in compensation from NPP Vice President Dr Bawumia for using his music without his permission.
You may recall that Bawumia recently held a presidential campaign in Nalerigu, North East region, when he was captured on film dancing passionately to DJ Azonto’s 2022 smash hit song ‘Fa No Fom‘ on stage.

The video went viral on social media, causing netizens to giggle at Bawumia’s unusual dance skills.
However, in response to the video, DJ Azonto’s management, known as the “Rolls Royce Family,” issued a statement claiming to have lambasted the politician over copyright violation.
The compensation amount that the management are demanding from Bawumia is $10 million equivalent to GH₵ 141,484,490 new Ghana Cedis.
The rationale for the reimbursement is that the song was used without his authorisation, which violated intellectual property law.
The management expressed disappointment with the veep for failing to follow the proper procedures for the two parties to reach an agreement on a contract.
They emphasised how artists are open and ready to collaborate with any future presidential candidates if correct routes are followed to ensure everything is done properly.
