Elrad Amoako, the 16-year-old son of renowned Ghanaian pastor Bishop Salifu Amoako to six months has been sentenced to six months at the Senior Correctional Centre.
He was jailed on Thursday, December 19, 2024, after pleading guilty to eight offences, including two counts of manslaughter, in connection with a tragic East Legon incident that caught public attention.
The case, which unfolded over several weeks, revealed details of the incidents leading to the charges.
The teenager’s actions resulted in the loss of two lives which includes; Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agebenu, leaving the victims’ families and the community in grief.
Despite his age, the court treated the case with the seriousness it deserved, balancing the need for justice with considerations of the boy’s youth and potential for rehabilitation.
During the court proceedings, the boy admitted responsibility for his actions, which ultimately led to the fatalities.
His legal team presented arguments emphasizing his remorse and the importance of offering him a chance to reform.
