Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, has revealed that the group will not be accepting salaries or allowances for their work.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Ablakwa who is also an MP for North Tongu emphasizes that their commitment is fueled by a sense of duty to the country and faith in God.
According to him, none of the team’s operation will have a burden on taxpayers money as they intent to maintain transparency and integrity throughout their mission.
“The ORAL Team held its first meeting at 2pm today and has resolved to work gratis.
“We shall not be receiving salaries, allowances, per-diems or fuel coupons. None of our activities will come at a cost to the taxpayer.
“We continue to count on your support, let’s do this for God and Country — Ablakwa declared in a Facebook post.
The ORAL team, was recently inaugurated by President-elect John Dramani Mahama and is tasked with spearheading the party’s anti-corruption campaign.
The initiative aims to recover state funds and assets allegedly lost through corruption and mismanagement.
Many people have heavily showered praises on Ablakwa’s statement and the team’s commitment to the cause.
Supporters have commended their dedication to fighting corruption free from the personal interest.
