Responding to the concerns, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, acknowledged that the Lagos Town inner roads project has not yet been included in the government’s current work programme.

However, he disclosed that engineering studies and design works for the roads have already been completed, positioning the project for consideration once funding becomes available.

The Minister further noted that discussions have been ongoing with the Effia MP regarding road development in the constituency and commended Hon. Boamah-Nyarko’s commitment to securing improved infrastructure for his constituents.

According to the MP, Effia’s inner road network spans more than 10 kilometres, making road construction and rehabilitation a critical necessity for economic activity, transportation, and community growth.

Hon. Boamah-Nyarko emphasized that improving road infrastructure remains one of his top priorities and pledged to continue engaging the government until the affected roads receive the attention they deserve.

The renewed appeal comes amid growing calls from residents for improved road networks to ease transportation challenges and support development across the constituency.

Effia MP Isaac Boamah-Nyarko Pushes for Lagos Town & East Tanokrom Roads Construction as Minister Confirms Designs Ready But No Money

The Member of Parliament for Effia, Hon. Isaac Boamah-Nyarko, has once again called on the government to prioritize the construction of major inner roads in his constituency, stressing how bad the situation has become for residents.

Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday June 17, the MP did not hold back as he highlighted the terrible state of roads in places like Lagos Town, CDH Road, East Tanokrom, and other communities within the constituency.

He told the House that these roads have become a nightmare for commuters and appealed to the Roads and Highways Ministry to act fast.

In his response, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, admitted that the Lagos Town inner roads project is not currently part of the government’s work programme.

However, he revealed that engineering studies and design works for the roads have already been completed. According to him, the project is ready to go as soon as funding becomes available.

The Minister also noted that his team has been in discussions with the Effia MP regarding road development in the constituency and commended Boamah-Nyarko for his relentless push for better infrastructure.

Hon. Boamah-Nyarko pointed out that Effia’s inner road network stretches over 10 kilometres, making road construction and rehabilitation a matter of urgency for the constituency.

He said fixing these roads would directly impact economic activities, ease transportation difficulties, and boost overall community growth. For him, road infrastructure is non-negotiable.

He made it clear that he will keep engaging the government until the roads receive the attention they deserve.

The MP’s renewed appeal comes as residents continue to express frustration over the poor state of roads in the area.

Many have been calling on authorities to intervene, especially as the rainy season makes some roads nearly impassable.
