Freezy MacBones, born on July 22, 1990 began his boxing career in 2017 at the age of 27 and has surprised many people over the years with his sheer hunger and dedication to the sport.

He gained the moniker “Freezy MacBones” due to his fighting style and has been compared to a modern-day Mike Tyson. Freezy MacBones attended Krobea Asante Technical Institute School in Kumasi, where he studied Building and Construction and completed in 2011.

His first amateur fight begun in Miguel’s gym, where Freezy had a 25 second KO. He won his first medal at the Haringey Gold Medal Champion in 2019. On Saturday, April 15, 2023, MacBones appeared in his second professional fight on the undercard to Joe Joyce vs Zhilei Zhang at the Copper Box Arena in London, where he faced veteran Darryl Sharp.

On Saturday August 26, 2023, Freezy Macbones landed in Ghana to team up with the Black Bomber squad as they prepare for the upcoming Africa Olympics Boxing Qualifiers in Senegal. A group of ten Ghanaian fans gathered at Kotoka International Airport to warmly receive MacBones, who had left London the previous day, August 25th after responded positively to the invitation from the Ghana Boxing Federation on August 15th.

He was committed to represent Ghana in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers. Freezy united with the Black Bombers in Accra as they geared up for the Olympic Boxing Qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal, scheduled from September 9th to September 15th, 2023. During his media interaction upon arrival, MacBones expressed gratitude to all those who came to greet him and extended their support, stating his belief that the Black Bombers will return with numerous medals from Senegal.

His parents are both farmers. The couple married for over 4 decades and shared 12 children together. MacBones’ father who was also an elder died of unsuccessful surgery in Kumasi hospital in 2021 after the boxer travelled to the UK in 2012 to start a new life after completing senior high school.

During his brief visit in the UK, he worked as a cleaner, and kitchen Porter in coffee shop and Rhubarb restaurant in London. Despite his parents’ information is scarce on the internet, McBones shared photos of himself with his mother on social media after the boxer reconnected with his mother for the first time in Kumasi after 11 years.
