The organisers of the Ghana Victory Concert have removed Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy from the lineup, according to a statement.
The singer was omitted from the event, which was scheduled for Sunday, January 5, after a Twitter user identified as Mr Opare started the #DropStonebwoy hashtag campaign on micro blogging platform.
The campaign caught the attention of many people, notably NDC party supporters and admirers, after the official show flyer was shared on social media.

The rationale for their call for the removal of Stonebwoy from the show came when they accused the ‘Over Lord’ hitmaker of publicly not extending his support to the NDC party while the NPP was in power.
Others expressed alarm over Stonebwoy’s NPP connection and alleged decline of the NDC’s invitation to perform at the party’s rally a few months ago.

It became more severe when other campaigners banded together to accuse Stone of voting for the NPP after posting his photo at the polling location.
Many people including Olele Salvador did not sided with idea of commoners urging the organisers to drop Stonebwoy from the concert as much as NDC party is for and not only party supporters.
However, the Ghana Victory Party organizers reacted to the widely circulated petition by issuing a statement to address the public opinions.
In the statement dated on 3rd January, there was no spectific cause as to what led Stonebwoy’s withdrawal from the show .

Meanwhile Ghana Victory Concert is an event organised by the NDC to celebrate John Mahama ahead his swearing-in as the President of Ghana. The programme also includes other activities like ‘a victory across all constituencies, a victory walk in Accra among others’.
