“ How I Was Stripped Naked In Public By My Dad” - KiDi Recounts

Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known in showbiz as KiDi, has shared why his father stripped him naked in public a few years ago.

KiDi revealed this in an interview with Doreen Avio on Joy Prime TV, where he recounted how his father became enraged at him for causing trouble at school.

According to the VGMA artiste of the year, he didn’t have a good relationship with his father because his stubbornness as a teenager was out of control, which always caused trouble at home.

He also stated that despite his father’s efforts to instill fear and proper upbringing in him, he did not listen to them until his father stripped him naked as a lesson to him.

KiDi emphasised that his father purposefully ordered him to undress in front of his other friends at school for taking his teacher’s food without permission.

“My dad called my big sister. He was like strip him naked, everything, no supporter, nothing, and then, when you are done, put on his church shoes. So picture this, a young kid, naked, wearing only shoes”. KiDi explained to Doreen Avio duing the interview.

He later admitted that this punishment, along with his father’s threats to let him out of the house, caused a sudden change in his behaviour.

“My dad said since you want to act all grown up, leave my house and go and live in your own house. I started crying and walking out, and he called me up and things have never been the same. So I feel like that punishment stuck with me more than any beating I have ever received”, the musician shared his pain.
