It Will Take 40 Years For Ghana To Have A Player Like Asamoah Gyan – Agyemang Badu

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has said that, it will take more than a decade for Ghana to witness a player like Asamoah Gyan.

On UTVGhana midday news, Agyemang Badu stated that it will take Ghana 40 years to find a player of Asamoah Gyan’s talents. 

According to him, football is generational, and current players are in their own league, but Ghanaians must work with the materials and squad available now for the World Cup.

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, who currently plays for Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League, also stated that comparing current players to Asamoah Gyan and his predecessors is wrong because such players are irreplaceable.

“It will take Ghana 40 years to have a player who plays and have similar qualities like Asamoah Gyan, unless miracle – he stated 

Explaining why Ghana can’t have a player of Asamoah Gyan’s caliber he said : “During our time, we had players like Sulley Muntari, Laryea Kingston, Michael Essien who always scored goals from range to support the main striker Asamoah Gyan, but this generation of Black Stars isn’t like that.”

He also advised that Ghanaians should support the current squad and avoid the notion that they should have players like Asamoah Gyan.

“Talented players in the Black Stars must be nurtured since that is what we have. Let us not compare the current generation to Asamoah Gyan’s era.” — He conclude

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu made his debut for Great Olympics this year 2022 after signing a one-year contract with the capital city squad, He played 78 games for the Black Stars, scoring 11 goals, before retiring in 2021.
