Lilian Owusu, the widow of late former Ejisu constituency MP John Kumah, has remarried a year after the death marking a new chapter in her life.
Mrs. Owusu tied the knot with Samuel Aryeequaye, a Ghanaian politician and member of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), in a traditional wedding ceremony on Friday, December 19, 2025 following her husband who died in tragic circumstances.
John Kumah’s surviving spouse’s marriage went viral on social media after an engagement poster for the event with her new partner surfaced online following their wedding.
The couple thanked the family, friends, and loved ones who attended the wedding to make it a memorable occasion.

Madam Lilian was also captured in post-wedding photos with her new husband, in which they were seen smiling beautifully together.
Another moment showed them spending quality time with their family at an unidentified restaurant, demonstrating their affection.
However, Samuel Aryeequaye is better well known for his political and entrepreneurial skills, and he currently serves as a senior member of the LPG led by Percival Kofi Akpaloo.
In the 2020 general election, he contested for a parliamentary seat in the Agona East constituency in the central region, but was defeated by a member of the then-ruling NPP party.
Despite having lost the opportunity to become an MP, Samuel believes that youth employment and investment in local businesses can help develop a better country.
Meanwhile, in response to Mrs. Lilian Owusu and Samuel’s marriage, many netizens have expressed their opinion that she should have remained single for a while before marrying another man.
Others argue that she cannot be a widow because her husband died and is gone forever.
