Katalin Novak Children: Meet Adam, Tamás And Kata Veres — Katatin Éva Veresné Novák is a Hungarian politician and the current President of Hungary, having made history as the country’s first female and youngest president at the age of 44.
Born on September 6, 1977 in Szeged, Hungary, Novak served as a member of the Fidesz National Assembly from 2018 to 2022 before becoming president, and from 2020 to 2021 she served as Minister of Family in the fourth Orbán government.
However, her term became controversial in early 2024. She was embroiled in a celebrity news that led to a presidential pardon for Endre Konya, the former deputy head of the orphanage who was implicated in a pedophilia case
This led to Novak’s resignation on February 10, 2024, although her confirmation by the Hungarian parliament is still pending.
Novak’s political career began in 2001 in her Foreign Ministry, where she specialized in the European Union and European affairs
Over the years, she held various positions, including Secretary of State for Family and Youth Affairs and Vice President of Fidesz
She received 137 out of 188 votes in the 2022 presidential election, securing her victory and marking a historic moment as Hungary’s first female president.
Beyond her political career, Katalin Novak trained in economics and law, studying at Corvinus University and Szeged University in Budapest
She also studied International Studies at Paris Nanterre University and she is fluent in Hungarian, French, English, German and Spanish.
