The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has said that Shatta Wale, a dancehall musician, was not paid for his performance at the 2025 Presidents Cup. According to a statement released on Monday, June 7, the ministry led by Kofi Adams claims that Shatta Wale performed for free as the singer financed all production costs with his association at Accra Sports Stadium.
The statement claims that, Shatta Wale delivered the performance “pro bono in honour of the President and the Ghanaian people,” and took full responsibility for expenses related to dancers, costumes, rehearsals and stage production.
