Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has finally reacted to her bikini video, stating that when her mother saw the viral footage, ‘she was pleased with it’.
Speaking on last Saturday episode of United Showbiz on UTV, Sista Afia asserts that the video wasn’t intended to set a trend but she was just having fun.
She emphasises that the fact that she wouldn’t do it in Ghana speaks volumes about the significance of the setting in which she puts her alluring figure.
Sista Afia clarifies why she exposed her heavy tundra while wearing a towel in her viral video, citing ‘it was just a skirmishes’.
She says that her mother expressed happiness and support for her after showcasing her surgery figure at the beach, putting skeptics to shame who had vilified her over the years over body shaming.
“ I was having a fun because I don’t normally do that. It was one of those times that I said let me be myself…and the location, sometimes you need the right place to do the right thing. So Miami was the right place for me to do that”— she said.
When was asked if she could’ve done that in Ghana, Sista Afia replied “ I wouldn’t have done that if I’m in Ghana because I’m not familiar with that and that is the reason why it went viral because people don’t normally see me as such”.
“My mum is someone who don’t normally like talking but with this particular video my told me “Afia you have done well for yourself and I’m so proud of you” after someone sent the video to her” — she concluded.
Sista Afia’s bikini video gained attention after the singer was captured on a camera flaunting her curvy shape at the Miami Beach in the USA.
The video grabbed the attention of many people, including Efia Odo, who criticised it, prompting them to reignite their feud, calling themselves different names on social media.
