NACOC Confirms Arrest of Popular Packaging Brand Owner In Alleged Cocaine Smuggling Case
Popular Ghanaian businessman was arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), for allegedly attempting to traffic cocaine, a stimulant hard drug substances abroad, according to reports on Wednesday morning, February 11, 2026.
The news that was first shared on Twitter by famous Sports journalist Saddick Adams (now known as X), the man who owns a food packaging company that specialises in beverages, juices, and ready-to-eat food was reportedly arrested at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
Adams claimed in his tweet that, the business mogul whose name is yet-to-be identified and he’s currently in police custody tried to transport the white powder substances.

Mr. Alexander Twum-Barimah, Deputy Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), confirmed the arrest and stated that operatives successfully intercepted an international shipment of cocaine concealed in the packaging of a Ghanaian brand.
According to Twum Barimah, management of the company has been summoned for questioning as part of the investigation into the alleged drug trafficking operation.
He asserts that the business is innocent and has no involvement in dealing with drugs following the seizure.
Twum Barimah emphasized that the entity’s managerial staffs have also been picked up and are now assisting the investigative process from the authorities.
This has sparked widespread debate among Ghanaians, with social media users sharing differing perspectives on the issue.
As at reporting this news, no official charges has also been filed against the businessman and its brand for any offense as investigations are still ongoing.
The NACOC however had not issued an official statement announcing the businessman’s detention as claimed.
