Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has publicly blasted former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta labelling him as the worst minister to have ever led Ghana’s Finance Ministry.
Nana Aba who did not hold back in her assessment over Ofori-Atta’s tenure expresses her disappointment in his management of the country’s economy.
She joins list of Ghanaians who are heavily blaming the former minister for Ghana’s economic struggles including, high inflation, rising debt, and the controversial management of the National Cathedral project.
Ofori-Atta, who served as Finance Minister under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, faced a lot of backlash throughout his tenure.
Hi style of handling the Ghana economy especially the country’s negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the implementation of the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy), sparked widespread criticism from both the public and political figures.
The criticisms follow Ken Ofori Atta’s current corruption cases, which he faces after being declared wanted by special prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.
Despite being under investigation, Ofori Atta reportedly fled the country, prompting the OSP to declare him a fugitive.
OSP’s cases against Ken Ofori-Atta include the termination of contracts for Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited and GRA, ECG and Beijing Technology Limited, the National Cathedral Project, ambulance procurement, and GRA’s Tax Refund Account Payments.
