On the club’s official Twitter account, a video of one of Christian Atsu’s best performances for Newcastle United was shared as a tribute to him.
In a Premier League match that also featured Christian Atsu’s international teammate and Black Stars captain Dede Ayew, Newcastle came back from a goal down to upset West Ham 3-2.
Christian Atsu contributed an assist and a goal to the victory. Atsu contributed to the second goal scored by Newcastle before scoring the game-winning goal.
Christian Atsu collected the ball on the left wing and swung past Zabelata to set up Diame for Newcastle’s second goal. Atsu scored the final goal of a brilliant counterattack while Newcastle held a two-goal advantage.

Andre Ayew of West Ham scored with a few seconds left on the clock to bring the score to 3-2 after missing a penalty attempt. Christian Atsu played for Newcastle from 2016 to 2021, appearing in over 100 games for the Magpies.
The former Premier League player, who played for both Newcastle United and Chelsea, was declared missing on Tuesday, February 7, following the dreadful earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6 only to be found dead twelve days later.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United football club supporters have started a fundraising campaign in Christian Atsu’s honour in an effort to fulfil the former winger’s wish to build a new school in Ghana, ghbase.com reports
After it was revealed that the 31-year-old winger for the Magpies and Chelsea had died in the catastrophic earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, tributes poured in from his former clubs.
Newcastle held a moment of silence for Atsu in their match against Liverpool days after his death.

Now, a support group called Talk of Tyneside has started a fundraising campaign to support a cause close to Atsu’s heart. Atsu, a representative of the group Arms Around the Child, assisted in the construction of this new school.
Already over £600 has been donated to Talk of Tyneside’s Ghana relief fund, and the radio show’s hosts are appealing to listeners there to do their part to complete the work that he began there.
