Lace Vine, a businessman and co-founder of a private jet charter company, has refuted widespread reports that Nigerian musicians own private jets.
According to him, none of Nigerian musicians, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Asake, and others, own a private plane, despite what hilarious online sites have reported.
He made the clarification in response to a viral video shared by a fan on the X platform claiming Burna Boy has a personal aircraft.
In the video, the Grammy Award-winning artist and his team can be seen parking their luggage from the luxury aeroplane ahead of the singer’s performance in Nigeria.
The fan wrote, “Burna Boy getting off his private jet last night in Abuja.” In response to the tweet, Lace Vine quoted the piece, which argues that most of the artists use charter services for their air travel needs.
“Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, apart from Davido who flies his Dad’s jet — he said.
He further clarifies that his statement was not intended to undermine any artist, but rather to share honest information about a subject that had been on many fans’ lips.
“Please there’s no intent to shade anyone with this tweet. Also renting a Jet is not fake life. It’s not cheap,” he added.

Davido is said to own a Bombardier Global 500 private jet worth more than $75 million after captured flying in it.
Burna Boy and Wizkid supposedly possessed the expensive item when they first appeared in photos with it.
Earlier this year, Asake was also supposed to acquire a brand new jet following his Mercedes-Benz G Class 2025 invitation
