An old post by the late Dada KD, a famed Highlife musician who predicted his own demise, has resurfaced online.
Dada KD exhibited a sign of depression and desire to die in a social media post 5 years ago, after expressing an interest in joining late artist Kofi B and actor Bishop Bernard Nyarko.
He emphasises his dire situation and poor musical career despite being in the industry for a decade or more with multiple popular songs.
His remarks come while bidding farewell to the aforementioned renowned personalities after their untimely demise.
The 2020 post appeared shortly after Dada KD’s death, which caused anguish and sorrow in the Ghana music scene, with many expressing their disbelief in his death.
“My situation and frastuation combined can’t be handled by anyone except Death and my unforseen Creator even though it has never crossed my mind to commit the novel suicidal of any kind but l know l can’t help myself neither can any one be of help to settle the dust thrown at me for the past 11years consistently but l only opt to make my life as a singer/joker yet it couldn’t help but at least to this far is quite unattractive but damn why me”. — as quoted by MyNewsGhana.com
Meanwhile Dada KD died at the age of 56 on Friday, May 16, in the Gbwe hospital, after battling high blood pressure.
Prior to his death, the famed musician was reportedly contracted a mild malaria which also contributed to his demise despite being unable to survive.
Report indicates that, he was reportedly turned away by three hospitals due to absence of doctors after his condition became worse.
Dada KD made his debut in the Ghana music industry when he was seven years old. He is best known for his musical prowess with songs like Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, Honey Love among others.
