Rocky Dawuni is currently the Ghanaian artist with the most nominations, with four, following his nomination for the 2025 Grammys. The Legendary reggae musician received a nomination for Best Global Music Performance with his song “Rise” at the prestigious award ceremony on Friday, November 8, 2025.

His first nomination was in 2015 with his ‘Branches of The Same Tree’ album in the Best Reggae Album category.
In 2021, his album “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1” was nominated for Best Global Music Album.
His song ‘Never Bow Down’ also competed for hant «lobal music performance for the 2023.
This year, Dawuni’s “Rise” competes in the Best Global Music Performance category alongside artistes such as Angélique Kidjo & Soweto Gospel Choir with “Sunlight to My Soul,” Arooj Aftab with “Raat Ki Rani,” Jacob Collier featuring Anoushka Shankar & Varijashree Venugopal with “A Rock Somewhere,” Masa Takumi featuring Ron Korb, Mody & Dale Edward Chung with “Kashira,” and Sheila E. featuring Gloria Estefan & Mimy Succar with “Bemba Colorá.”
Ghana, however missed out on the much coveted Best African Music Performance category, which had nominees including Asake & Wizkid with “MMS,” Burna Boy with “Higher,” Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay with “Sensational,” Tems with “Love Me JeJe,” and Yemi Alade with “Tomorrow.”
Aside Rocky Dawuni, other Ghanaian artists who have been nominated for the coveted award since its inception include; Fuse ODG, who won in 2017, and Killbeatz, who also won Producer of the Year with Edsheeran’s Divide album in 2018.
Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, and others have not been nominated for Grammy Awards.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States.
There will be red carpet event and perfomances from selected musicians as well as honouring and awarding for their talent and hardwork put in their craft.
