Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has unveiled his very own communication platform, WAYA, marking a significant step in his journey beyond music and into the technology space.
The award-winning musician made the announcement on Saturday, July 25, 2026, through his official social media pages, where he invited his millions of followers to become the first people to test the platform before its public launch.
The news quickly generated widespread reactions, with fans praising the initiative and expressing excitement about the project.

According to Shatta Wale, WAYA is a communication app developed by Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale. It allows users to make voice calls, exchange chat messages, send voice notes, and upload stories.
The name WAYA which was derived from letter “W” reflects Shatta Wale’s vision of creating “The African Way to Connect” — a platform that celebrates African creativity, innovation, and self-reliance.
Despite the app is currently in the pre-launch testing phase, Shatta Wale is inviting fans and followers to become early beta testers of the WAYA before the official public rollout.
Shatta Wale’s entry into the tech space is part of a broader trend of African celebrities investing in digital innovation including Diamond Platinumz, Mr. Eazi, Kendrick Lamar among others.
