Shatta Wale & Medikal Announces Freedom Wave Concert 2 After Wizkid Failed To Fill Accra Sports Stadium.

Shatta Wale and Medikal have announced the second edition of their Freedom Wave Concert, which will take place inside Accra Sports Stadium only days after Wizkid’s failed concert at the same venue.

This comes after Wizkid’s attempt to fill Accra Sports Stadium with his “Wizkid Live Accra” show, which was powered by Live Hub, flopped due to an his absenteeism at the show, angering fans and patrons.

It was a terrible day for the show’s organisers as the “Essence” hitmaker was dragged heavily and even threatened by fans for not giving them what they deserved after spending a lot of money for the event.

However, in an interview with Sammy Flex, the African dancehall king Shatta Wale, and AMG Rap Supremo, Medikal revealed that the rationale for their December 25th concert at Accra Sports Stadium is not to compete with Nigerian artist Wizkid.

According to them, the purpose of the concert is to give back to society, and it’s something they plan to do annually, like they did last year, but this time it will be in 360 thus packing the venue.

They continued by stating that, although Wizkid had a poor show but their concert was not intended to compete with the Grammy Award-winning artist after failing to fill the stadium.

Last year’s Freedom Wave concert was incredible, with fans flocking to the stadium in huge numbers for seeing performances from Black Sherif, Hajia4real, S3fa, Kelvyn Boy, Amerado, Quamina MP, Jupitar, Joey B, Keche, and Fameye, among others.

During the event, Shatta Wale, who was performing on stage, expressed his displeasure with Nigerian artistes for continually claiming that they, along with him and his compatriots, can’t fill concert venues because their skill isn’t equivalent to theirs and they can’t fly like them in any way.
