Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has expanded his business portfolio by launching Hotwav smartphones in Ghana.
On Monday, January 19, 2026 The celebrated singer took Twitter (also known as X) to announce to his follower that, Hotwav is now officially established and with the plans to launch its smartphones across the country and into the larger West African market.
Shatta Wale revealed that, he is a co-owner and brand partner of Hotwav Smartphones, actively working in the company’s future expansion beyond his typical ambassadorial role.
He clarified that, the reason behind his partnership with Hotwav is to create a well-organized, locally-focused tech company that provides robust but affordable smartphone that will be suitable to the people of the country.
Shatta Wale who had previously worked with corporate brand like Infinix Mobile Ghana unveiled the upcoming SM series smartphones line which was created especially for his community and fans as paper of the launch.
According to him, these gadgets are high-performing of superior quality, and sufficiently adaptable for both daily use and professional environments.
“This is more than just an endorsement”, Shatta Wale stressed, highlighting that this partnership is about ownership, structure and a long-term vision rather than a fleeting promotional deal.
In addition to the announcement, Shatta Wale was featured in promotional materials for the Hotwav Cyber 16 Pro and A 17 Pro smartphones.
The ‘Street Crown’ crooner did not specify the location or where to buy the phones in the post as most of them are to be released for sale.
Many followers have praised Shatta Wale in response to his tweet for his significant step, which demonstrates not just his financial acumen but also his sense of humanity and concern for the well-being of people during this difficult time.
While some are pushing the government to promote the new venture, others have assured Shatta Wale that they will buy the phones because they are locally produced.
