Ghanaian sound engineer and music producer, Appiah Dankwah popularly known as Appietus has revealed a long-held secret about his signature.
In a recent interview with presenter Kafui Dey, Appietus disclosed that Shatta Wale is the voice behind the “Appietus in the Mix” jingle.
According to him, the reggae-dancehall star made the jingle unconsciously during a studio session with legendary artist George Jahraa some years back.
He emphasised that Shatta Wale, then known as ‘Bandana’, began shouting his name at the top of his voice during his recording session in an attempt to grab his attention.
Nonetheless, the song continued recording due to his shift of concentration.

He asserted that these several “Appietus” screams were recorded against his will and then used as his signature on every song he had produced.
Surprisingly, he claimed Shatta Wale was unaware of the scenario for many years until recently.

In other news, Shatta Wale has apologized to GSPD over a comment his made during his performance at Salla Fest last weekend.
The ‘Real Life’ crooner is said to have mocked Stonebwoy with his “disability” which trending heavy online, prompting the organization to issue a warning to him.
Shatta Wale in a statement issued on Friday April 19, explains that the said comment wasn’t intended to denigrate Stonebwoy’s disability and other disabled persons.

He stated that he will be aware of his comments in the near future and committed to demonstrate his dedication to promoting inclusivity and understanding of the issue.
