Afro dancehall star Stonebwoy has sparked conversation online as he shared his billboard chart history shortly after Shatta Wale’s ‘On God’ success on the platform.
This comes when Stonebwoy took to social media to remind followers of his notable achievements on the Billboard charts, demonstrating his global impact.
He referenced a tweet from a fan who compiled the singer’s archives and entry on the music ranking system, which many saw as a response to Shatta Wale’s recent achievement.
Shatta Wale’s On God topped the Billboard charts at No.35, competing with songs by Wizkid and Naira Marley as previously reported.
After his recent performance at Vybz Kartel’s concert, the song which was released in 2022 garnered significant attention and high streaming across the world, mainly from Jamaicans.
Shatta Wale received a deluge of congratulatory messages from music executives on social media following his music accolade.
However, in response to Shatta Wale’s chart success, Stonebwoy joined the conversation to showcase his own Billboard track record.
In the post, his 2023 albums 5th Dimension and Epistles of Mama (EOMA) peaked at No. 8 and No. 13 on Billboard Reggae Albums and Billboard World Albums, respectively.
Stonebwoy’s collaboration with Keri Hilson on ‘Nominate’ and ‘Life & Money’ were among his tracks that earned No. 19 on Billboard Digital tracks Sales and No. 47 on Billboard US Afrobeats Charts.
