This unfortunate incident is expected to keep him out of play for the remainder of the season.
Courtois is now scheduled to undergo surgery to address this issue. The best possible outcome would be a comeback around April next year. However, there is a genuine worry that Courtois might not be able to participate in this season at all.
Since his transfer from Chelsea in 2018, the 31-year-old has been a consistent figure in the Real Madrid lineup.
Over this period he has completed in 230 matches for the Spanish team achieving the honor of two La Liga titles and one Champions League victory.
This injury setback leaves Real Madrid with only Andriy Lunin as an experienced goalkeeper opinion.
Remarkably, this situation energies just couple of days befor they commence the bee season with an away game against Athletic Bilbao.
Andriy Lunin, a 24-year-old Ukrainian international took the field 12 times during the previous season for the Real Madrid.
Since joining the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, he has participated in nine La Liga matches.
Additionally, he has had loan stints with Leganes, Real Valladolid and Real Oviedo.
Thibaut Courtois’s injury also raises concerns for Belgium’s head coach, Domenico Tedesco, especially considering the upcoming European Championship in Germany next summer.
