Thomas Partey and Arsenal’s chances of winning their first English Premier League title since 2004 have been dashed after a 4-1 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Gunners had been in contention for the title for most of the season, but a recent dip in form has seen their hopes fade.
Arsenal have drawn their previous three matches, extending their winless streak.
Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne scored in the seventh minute, and John Stones increased the lead shortly before halftime.
De Bruyne scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Erling Haaland, nine minutes into the second half, before Arsenal’s Rob Holding equalised.
Haaland then scored to finish off an excellent performance for the Cityzens, who are currently two points behind Arsenal with two games remaining.
Manchester City will try to take the lead with a win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, while Arsenal will face Chelsea on Tuesday.
However, following Arsenal’s loss to Manchester City, football fans are concerned about Thomas Partey and Bukayo Saka’s form after playing 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
Some believed the two players’ form fell apart as a result of their recent video with media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, which went viral on social media.
They claimed that Arsenal were on the verge of winning the league unless Nana Aba brought ‘bad luck’ to the London club with her rendezvous with the two players, particularly Partey.
