Jamaican dancehall star Spice, born Grace Latoya Hamilton has arrived in Ghana, West Africa. The singer landed at Accra’s Kotoka International Airport late on a Thursday night in November 14, 2024.
Upon arrival, Spice wore a striking all-blue Graci Noir outfit, including a matching bag from her own apparel line, paired with white sneakers.
She was warmly welcomed by a crowd of enthusiastic fans at the airport entrance and took photos with the airport staffs to mark the occasion.
This visit marks Spice’s first time in Ghana, where she will be working on a music video project with Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy for their collaborative song, “Whine & Jiggle” off “Up & Running” album.
“I’m very excited because I don’t think I’ve been this excited to travel or I go somewhere before. This is my most exciting trip ever, I’ve never been to Ghana before and this is my first time. Stonebwoy you really did a big one” — Spice said upon her arrival in Ghana.
Meanwhile, Spice is best known for her aggressive style, versatile music, and outspoken lyrics in dancehall music.
She rose to fame after performing at the annual Sting festival in Jamaica in 2000. Her official debut in the Jamaican music scene came with the release of her first single, “Complain,” in 2003.
Following her debut, Spice released hits like “Right There” and “Hype,” and her hard work and dedication led to collaborations with notable artists, including Jimmy Cliff in 2004 and Beenie Man in 2006.
Since then, Spice has solidified her place in the music industry and claimed the title of the “Queen of Dancehall.
