Kofi Adomah sustained a serious eye injury during coverage of the Kwafie Festival and the 25th anniversary of the Dormaahene’s enstoolment at Dormaa Ahenkro in Ghana’s Bono Region.

Initial reports suggested that the injury resulted from accidental exposure to gunpowder during a traditional musketry display. However, his wife later clarified that the journalist was intentionally shot in the face by an unknown assailant using gunpowder.

The injury led to partial vision loss in one eye, prompting multiple surgeries. Kofi Adomah initially received treatment in Dubai and has continued with recovery efforts in the United States.
