A video showing Malik Basintale carrying a gun as his personal bodyguard to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) office sparked reactions among fans online.
In the viral video, Basintale, the current CEO of YEA, arrived with a noticeably muscular bodyguard while keeping a firearm in his office while at work.
Basintale is seen in the footage stepping out of a V8 vehicle while his personal bodyguard, whose identity is not publicly known, carries his bag.
As Basintale walked through the office, he took time to greet the staff members along the way.
Malik Basintale was appointed as the CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) last month by President John Dramani Mahama.
He is a key member in Ghanaian politics having been playing a huge contribution during the December 7 Presidential Election campaign last year.
He previously served as the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) deputy communications officer for the Savannah Region, was named interim CEO of YEA on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Malik Basintale had a number of leadership roles, including those at the University of Ghana (UG), TEIN, the UG Parliament House, and the SRC board of the latter institution.
Before becoming a National Executive member of the NDC, Malik had won the same portfolio in the Northern region.
At the age of 21, Malik Basintale took everyone by surprise, becoming the youngest Northern regional executive.
After the Congress, Malik S. Basintale, 21, emerged victorious as the Deputy Communication Officer.
