Renowned American rapper Rick Ross real name William Leonard Roberts II, has chosen his favourite African artists people should pay attention to.
Rick Ross, who is currently in Cape Town, South Africa, to shoot a music video for Dangerous II, took to Instagram on January 16, 2025 to name Stonebwoy, Davido, Nasty C, Blaq Bonez, Focalistic, Spice Diana, and Khaligraph Jones etc as global superstars.
Bayani, Afro P, Psycho YP, and Chop Sticks were among the musicians and Disc Jockeys (DJs) on his list, all of whom he considers to be future legends.
In the video, he also encouraged American musicians to collaborate with African artistes to foster unity.
“These are my list of icons, let’s continue to build that bridge from the U.S.A. to Africa. Because they are legends,” he added.
Rick Ross also hinted at his upcoming album dubbed ‘Champaign Moments’, a project mainly for African artists.
The album which was supposed to be released in 2024 will undoubtedly feature some of the aforementioned musicians from the content.
Rick Ross’ relationship with African artists, particularly Stonebwoy, is strengthening with each passing day as he strives to express his admiration and recognise their talents.
Last year, he appeared in an Instagram live video session with the ‘Overlord’ hitmaker, indicating his desire to collaborate with the multiple award-winning artist.
