The honorable actions of an unemployed Ghanaian man have earned him widespread praise and admiration after returning GH¢100,000 to its rightful owner.
According to him, he found GH¢100,000 in cash, a key, and an ID card in the backseat of a taxi during his journey from the Mobil fuel station in Nima to Abossey Okai in Accra.
Recognizing that the belongings did not belong to him, he proactively chose to transport these items to Adom FM, an Accra-based radio station, with the aim of assisting in locating their rightful owner.
During an interview with Adom FM, he revealed that he decided not to alert the taxi driver due to uncertainty regarding the driver’s intentions.
Instead, he discreetly gathered the items, driven by the principles instilled in him by his parents, which emphasized honesty and integrity.
He emphasized that even if the money had been significantly greater, he would still have returned the items, as retaining them would have conflicted with his moral values.
This remarkable display of integrity has ignited discussions on social media, with many Ghanaians applauding the man’s honesty and regarding him as a shining example of ethical conduct.
Some have even admitted that they might have acted differently if confronted with the same situation.
