Ghana Media Personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay is furious after Andre Ayew’s penalty miss for the Black Stars’ match against Uruguay in the 2022 World Cup
Captain of the Black Stars Dede Ayew’s penalty was saved by Uruguay’s goalie, who went in the right direction to deny Ghana a goal after the keeper grabbed Kudus Mohammed’s legs in the 18-yard box.
Ghana started the game slowly but managed to get one chance, which saw Jordan Ayew shot the ball and Mohammed Kudus follow with a rebound, earning Ghana a penalty by the 19th minute.
Referee Daniel Siebert whistled for offside but awarded a penalty to Ghana after consulting with the Video Assistant Referee.
Andre Ayew, the captain of the team, volunteered to take the kick for the Black Stars. Unfortunately, Andre Ayew’s penalty was saved by Uruguay’s goalkeeper, bringing back painful memories for Ghanaians.
Reacting to the missed penalty and how the Black Stars are performing below expectations, the TV personality Delay in her feelings questioned Oto Addo’s decision to change his winning team that defeated South Korea 3-2 in their pervious game.
“Why would Otto Addo change the winning team? Make it make sense” she said in a Facebook post.
