Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun popularly known by his stage name Wizkid has unfortunately lost his mother.
The news was first broke out by a close associate of Wizkid, who revealed that the singer’s mother, Jane Dolapo, died in the early hours of Friday, August 18, 2023.
The Nigerian entertainment industry has taken a big blow as a slew of celebrities, as well as fans and devotees of Wizkid, have sent their condolences and goodwill to console the multiple award-winning artist.

Wizkid’s mother was regarded as highly pivotal to his musical success, which catapulted him to global superstardom.
She was frequently seen supporting her son’s musical career and even visiting some of his gigs and concerts, as the BigWiz himself hailed her as a huge support in his life.
Many people who met Mama Jane praised her as an amazing woman, including Afrobeat singer Davido.
Davido praised Mama Jane in a tweet last August 26 after running to her at the airport and posing for a photo with her.
The “Unavailable” hitmaker in his tweet said “Such an amazing Woman … God bless you ma. D way I was carrying mommy’s bags today at the airport .. dem know say nah First class citizen.”

Wizkid Mother Cause of Death
The nature and cause of her death are yet unknown; the singer and family have yet to issue a statement or speak publicly about her passing.
