2 house helps steal money and items from Cecilia Dapaah’s home
Two house helps employed by Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, have found themselves entangled in a legal battle facing serious charges of theft for allegedly to have stolen valuable items and significant sums of money from the couple’s residence in Abelemkpe, Accra.
A reports by the Chronicle newspaper reveal that Patience Botwe also known as Maabena, and Sarah Agyei both house helps of the complainants, are at the center of this unfortunate incident.
The stolen items include a staggering US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghana Cedis.
These significant amounts have raised eyebrows and drawn public attention to the case.
The theft came to light when Daniel Osei Kuffour caught Patience attempting to conceal herself in their bedroom.
Following this discovery, the couple noticed several of their valuable possessions missing, leading them to report the matter to the police authorities.
Subsequently, Patience, 18, along with her alleged accomplices, including her father, were remanded into lawful custody.
While Patience, 30, and her alleged accomplices were remanded in custody, Sarah, a former house help involved in the incident, was granted bail.
Her status as a breastfeeding mother played a role in the court’s decision, and her bail was set at GH¢1 million with two sureties.
Additionally, they are alleged to have taken personal belongings, such as variety of clothes valued at GH¢95,000, handbags and perfumes.
The case is currently under further investigation to unravel the extent of involvement and recover the stolen funds and items.
As investigations deepened, shocking revelations emerged regarding how Patience and her alleged boyfriends utilized the stolen funds.
They reportedly rented an apartment in Tamale, purchased a car, and splurged on various items using the ill-gotten money.
Meanwhile, Sarah utilized her portion of the money to build a 3-bedroom house, where she was later apprehended.
The case is set to continue with proceedings adjourned to August 2, 2023.
