The Accra High Court has granted NPP Bono Regional chairman Kwame Baffoe popularly referred to as Abronye a GHC100,00 bail with two sureties to be justified.
As part of his bail conditions he is to submit his travel documents to the court registrar and only travel out of the jurisdiction with the express permission from the registrar.
The Court also ordered Abronye to report to the Police CID every fortnight.
Lawyers of Abronye led by Godfred Yeboah Dame moved the bail application on Thursday after notifying the court that they had still not being served with the response from the prosecution.
Deputy Attorney-General Dr Justice Srem-Sai indicated to the court that they had not filed a response and did not oppose the bail application.
The Presiding judge then granted the bail application.
The NPP Bono Regional Chairman has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and publication of false news.
According to the prosecution Abronye made derogatory remarks about a judge and attempted to incite the public against the court.
Reacting to the development, the New Patriotic Party General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua lamented that the Attorney-General should have allowed the court to hear the bail application on Wednesday if they were not going to oppose the prayer.
He averred that the gesture further delayed the proceedings and resulted in the NPP regional chairman staying a day more in custody.
